Goshen High School
Media Resource Specialist
POSITION PURPOSE: To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information through collaborative experiences. To instill a love of learning and exploration in all students. To provide equitable access to information through, to collaborate, and to connect learning to real-world events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in managing and developing the collection
- Assists in creating and encouraging a culture of reading
- Collaborates with the school community to support lessons in both the school library and classrooms
- Collects, organizes, and promotes resources (both print and digital) to the school community
- Supports students as they meet independent reading and academic goals
- Promotes and builds awareness of information literacy standards (effectively accessing and using appropriate resources) and digital citizenship
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow directions and established procedures
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to formats within the educational procedure of community-based instruction and inclusive teaching models
- Ability to perform job duties without supervision
- Ability to establish rapport with staff and children; ability to maintain discipline; possess tact; courtesy; and good judgment
HOURS: School year-180 days per year plus 4 additional days; 40 hours per week; 7:30am - 4:00pm
SALARY: $12.50-$14.70, rate is dependent upon education and/or experience. Those with a degree are eligible to receive up to an additional $1.00 per hour.
